Write clear, compelling, and strategic prose using the Message Box in this 3-hour virtual workshop.
Clear, compelling, and strategic communication is crucial for change, and writing is one important avenue for sharing scientific ideas and new information. But it can feel daunting to write something that’s scientifically accurate, easy to understand, relevant and interesting for readers who don’t have a science background. We can help.
In this 3-hour virtual workshop, we’ll support you as you plan out how you’re going to strategically share your key messages in your writing, so that you can achieve your communication goals. The workshop will be a combination of facilitated group discussion, content presentation, and paired activities in breakout rooms. This workshop is designed for people who are seeking to improve their written communication skills and have taken a Message Box workshop or have used the Message Box Workbook within the past 5 years.
By registering for this workshop, you are committing to active participation in the workshop, for the benefit of both yourself and the group. Please also plan to use a webcam whenever possible during discussion and breakout room portions of the workshop. Due to the progression of materials presented and the paired exercises, we cannot admit participants who are more than 15 minutes late.
Who could benefit from this workshop?
This workshop is open to anyone who is familiar with the Message Box and would like to learn how to use it specifically for written, non-fiction communication about topics related to science.
