COMPASS is excited to announce the first Changing Food Systems: Communicating Negative Impacts of Industrial Animal Agriculture cohort. These nine experts from around the world—including North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa—all work on different facets of the food production system, with a particular focus on shifting production away from industrial animal farming to agroecological systems that prioritize the wellbeing of people, communities, animals, and the environment.
In the Changing Food Systems program, participants will gain an understanding of science communication principles, develop a personalized plan to pursue strategic change in their landscape and research area, while also leaning on one another in facilitated conversations in order to better collaborate in pursuit of shared goals. This cohort represents a wide variety of expertise, perspective, and geography, and we look forward to facilitating these conversations in pursuit of more sustainable and equitable food systems.
Take a look at biographies of individual cohort members at this link, and we can’t wait to share more about the group (and learn from them!) as the program progresses.
